Memory Lane Event Center is a family owned and operated business established in July of 2007 in Dripping Springs, Texas.
Memory Lane evolved from a family home into a bed & breakfast in 2000. That all changed in 2007 when the owners' daughter fell in love with the wedding industry and convinced her parents to expand the bed & breakfast into a full-service wedding venue. The spectacular Hill Country property, with its beautiful oak trees, gorgeous sunsets, rolling hills and sweeping views provided the perfect backdrop for weddings that would make memories to last forever.
The venue hosted its first wedding in March of 2008 and has been making dreams come true and creating special memories ever since. Memory Lane was one of the original wedding venues in Dripping Springs and its success certainly contributed to the city recently being named as the Wedding Capital of Texas. We are considered a premier destination-wedding venue and have been privileged to work with couples from all over the world. We have been honored to receive the “Best of the Knot for Wedding Venues” in 2013, 2014 and 2015 as well as the “Couples Choice Award” with the Wedding Wire for 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.
Since 2007, Memory Lane Event Center has grown to offer a second venue, La Hacienda Event Center, that opened in 2014, just 0.2 miles from Memory Lane. Over the years we have continued to expand our services now offering full service Day of Coordinating, DJ, Floral, Linens, and Bartending to better serve our clients' needs. Whether you are looking for a simple outdoor wedding in a beautiful Hill Country setting, or a full-scale celebration, complete with housing for your wedding party, we are here to serve your needs. Let us help make all your dreams come true on your special day.
Our Family & Staff
Mike & Janet Morgan
After living in Austin more than a decade, Janet and Mike Morgan escaped the city in 1992, moving to a beautiful 18-acre site in Dripping Springs to raise their family. Mike started a recording studio on the property while Janet began offering warm and gracious bed and breakfast accommodations to Hill Country visitors. Years later, with their children grown, their spacious home was larger than the couple now needed. They wanted to share the home and property they had grown to love so much with others. Joining with their daughter Thalia, a nationally certified event planner, they launched a full service event center in 2007. Since then they have hosted weddings and events for people from all over the world. They are honored to share a place so dear to their hearts with so many people making special memories of their own.
Thalia (Morgan) Friedeck
Manager & Owner
I was born in Austin and moved to Dripping Springs, as a young girl, instantly falling in love with the area's natural beauty and charm. I graduated from Texas State University in San Marcos with a degree in Business Marketing and Management. Both my grandparents and my parents owned and operated family businesses, so I had a natural passion for business. I coupled that multi-generation heritage with my love of the event planning and wedding industry and convinced my parents to expand their bed & breakfast facility into a wedding venue. We launched Memory Lane Event Center in 2007 and never looked back. It is our joy to help couples celebrate one of the most wonderful days of their lives. Years later my passion for this industry and what I do has only continued to grow and I look forward to celebrating a lifetime of memories with many more couples in years to come.
Event Coordinating Manager
I am a people person and planner by nature. What better place to plan and meet people than a wedding venue? I have worked for Memory Lane since I graduated from Texas State in 2008, and love working for the family owned business. I have seen this place grow from a small business to one of the top wedding venues in the Hill Country! I have a passion for planning and also the floral aspect of weddings. I love floral designing, and watching brides over-all visions come to life on the day of the wedding! There is nothing better than knowing you had a part in the most important day in a couples life.
Planning my own wedding in 2009 led me into the wedding industry. It made me realize that I really enjoyed the experience and that I wanted to find a career in the event industry. From that point, I focused my college experience in that direction graduating from Texas State University with a degree in Business Management. I began with Memory Lane Event Center in 2011 as an intern and was fortunate to grow with the company, eventually becoming a full time event coordinator. My husband, Randal, and I live in Buda with our 2 year-old son, Reed.
My event planning experience and passion began when my husband served in the Army. As a military wife, I was recruited to help plan the Military Ball and other events and found that I enjoyed the experience. I began with Memory Lane as an intern in 2014 and now am a full time event coordinator. I hold a bachelor's degree in Family & Consumer Science from Texas State University and live in Wimberley with my husband, Mitch, and our dogs, Rylo and Pippa.
